Pilates and Pregnancy


Practising Pilates is an excellent way to prepare for and recover from pregnancy and birth. Pilates movements are beneficial pre and post pregnancy as they provide an ideal preparation for labour and are an important element in the recovery after birth


Practising Pilates before, during and after will:

  1. Support the weight of the growing baby within the womb.

  2. Reduce the risk of diastasis recti and pubis symphysis  (connective tissue separation).

  3. Assist in the control of the pelvis.

  4. Support and stabilise the spine.

  5. Assist in post-natal recovery
